Research interests
1. The role of social, affective and cognitive processes in the development of ethnic identity and expressions of intolerance and racism since childhood. Immigration issues regarding minority- majority relations are used to frame the concepts of ethnic conscience and identity, socialization processes, perceived groups’ goals, out-group discrimination and acculturation strategies. Participation on the ongoing debate on the contribution of cognitive and social factors to the expression and reduction of prejudice towards stigmatized groups.
2. Violence portrayed in the Mass Media and its direct and indirect consequences on behaviour in childhood and adolescence; the impact of violent videogames on the representations of the surrounding world and on interpersonal behaviours.
3. Conflict negotiation processes in intergroup contexts, namely regarding decision processes and model-building for conflict management studies.
