Research interests |
1. The role of social, affective and cognitive processes in the development of ethnic identity and expressions of intolerance and racism since childhood. Immigration issues regarding minority- majority relations are used to frame the concepts of ethnic conscience and identity, socialization processes, perceived groups’ goals, out-group discrimination and acculturation strategies. Participation on the ongoing debate on the contribution of cognitive and social factors to the expression and reduction of prejudice towards stigmatized groups. |
2. Violence portrayed in the Mass Media and its direct and indirect consequences on behaviour in childhood and adolescence; the impact of violent videogames on the representations of the surrounding world and on interpersonal behaviours. |
3. Conflict negotiation processes in intergroup contexts, namely regarding decision processes and model-building for conflict management studies. |
