The Harmonia research project is part of the Center for Research and Intervention (CIS) and is situated in the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE) in Portugal. The project is funded by the Foundation of Science and Technology (FCT). Harmonia is supervised by Professor Maria Benedicta Monteiro.
The focus of the project is on consequences for social diversity in the school context. More specifically, we are interested in how children of different ethnical backgrounds get an understanding of relations between social groups. Furthermore, we focus on how children of different groups perceive each other and interact.
Post-doctoral fellows, doctoral students, graduate and undergraduate students collaborate in the project. In cooperation with schools in Portugal data is collected among children (5-12 years old) by means of individual interviews, survey studies, and experiments.
The students study developmental and social psychological theory, research methodology, and conduct data analysis. The results are presented by articles and presentations on national and international conferences.

VII Simpósio Nacional Investigação em Psicologia (VII National Symposium of Research in Psychology)

ICERI 2009
On November 16-18 2009 there was the International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI 2009) in Madrid (Spain). Fórum Escolhas

Evora Conference on Inclusive Schools
On May 15 and 16 there was a conference in Évora, Portugal, on creating inclusive schools in Europe. The IRIS project aims to improve inclusion in schools by giving schools information and offers materials and assistence.
